Drive-in, Drive Through Racking

The Drive In and Drive Through Rackings provide maximum storage capacity using the minimum amount of space. It is particulary suitable for the storage of very large quantities of the same product such as drinks, food or raw materials packed in standard sizes.

Drive In racing is a single-sided sytem where picking and replenishment are done from one side only; whereas the Drive Through Racking is a double-sided system where both sides are used, and picking and replenishment on either side can take place at the discretion of the operators.

Mechanical Handling Equipment:

  • Counter balance or reach truck

Special Features of Drive In Drive Through Racking:

  • Limited order picking, 20-30% selectivity
  • Suitable for a large stock of single or limited types of goods
  • Net pallet area as a percentage of overall warehouse area is 60%
VNA - High Bay Racking

The Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Racking System is another form of APR designed to meet a new generation of warehouses up to 20 meters high. The system is designed around the operating tolerance of VNA trucks with aisles marginally wider than the load.

The structures of VNA are extremely stress-resistant and can cope strictly with manufacturing tolerance.

Mechanical Handling Equipment:

  • The use of specialist machinery (expandable to great height) requires a good floor surface.
  • Operates within floor guide rails or magnetic induction guidance system.

Special Features of APR:

  • Good stock rotation
  • Good order picking, 100% selectivity
  • Fast picking rate
  • Good product protection
  • Net pallet area as a percentage of overall warehouse area is 50%
Mobile Pallet Rack

This is a system where Pallet Racking moves on mobile-bases, hence the name Mobile Pallet Racking. This system is designed to maximize space utilisation by reducing aisles required for forklift operations. It is a high density storage system requiring one “shifting” aisle and allowing 100% access to the pallets stored.

Mobile Pallet Racking can increase storage capacity by up to 115% over the conventiobnal pallet racking system without the loss of selectivity.

Mobile Pallet Racking comprises of individual racks mounted on mobile bases. The bases are power-driven by high efficient, standard gear-reduction motors, controll by Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and can be ooperated in ambient and very low temperature environments. Sophisticated safety features make the system very reliable to use.

Mechanical-handling Equipment:

  • Counterbalance and reach truck

Special Features of Mobile Pallet Racking:

  • Ideal for high cost storage environments such as cold stores
  • 100% seletivity
  • Good floor utilisation
  • Net pallet are as a percentage of overall warehouse area is 65%
Pallet Shuttle System

This is ultra -high density storage system, and can be described as one that offers the density of the Drive In System and the advantage of the Live Storage System.

A pallet load is put on the pallet rail of the racking system by using a normal forklift. The load is then carried deep into the racking tunnels by using a small shuttle cart, known as the Pallet Shuttle. These tunnels can be as long as 30 pallets deep.

The Pallet Shuttle System requires no aisles. It offers both the First In First Out (FIFO) or First In Last Out (FILO) options without the necessity of driving a forklift truck into the racking tunnels .The operation of storage and retrieval is automatic control.

Operated by remote control, the Pallet Shuttle lifts the pallet above the rails, runs smoothly and accurately between the rails and places it at standard distance from other pallets, thus avoiding the goods being crushed by the frames or adjacent pallets.

This system offers high – volume order fulfilment, while preserving the flexibility required by the third-party logistics (3PL) service provider.

Mechanical Handling Equipment:

  • No special equipment is required. Any forklift from the existing fleet can be used so long as it can reach the top most pallet position.

Cantilever Racking

The Cantilever Racking provides the ideal storage solution for longer and oddly sized materials. It is particularly suitable for the storage of lumber, plywood sheets, pipes and bar stock. The Cantilever Racks can either be in a single bay or can be extended infinitely.

Longspan Racking

The Longspan Racking is constructed in a similar way to light pallet racking, but it is designed to store non-palletized goods. This is an intermediate application between light and heavy duty applications.

Longspan Racking is designed for the manual loading and unloading of goods. It can accommodate all kinds of goods from the smallest of components to the very large and irregularly shaped items. This system is particularly suitable for automotive components, supermarkets, libraries, hospitals and pharmacies etc.

The system is available from single-tier (for simple requirement) to multi-tier applications (up to 4 tiers), fully utilizing the warehouse height. Floors between the racks provide access to all levels.

Live Storage Racking (Pallet and Carton)

Pallet Live Storage Racing for Pallet is an excellent high-density storage system for automatic stock rotation using gravity force on a First in First Out (FIFO) basis. Each lane is dedicated to storing one product type.

Pallets are put on the racks at the loading face on rollers sloping down towards the picking face, therefore pallets roll to front. When the first pallet is removed at the picking face, gravity and the automatic braking system bring the pallets stacked behind it to roll to the picking front of the racks at a controlled pace, so the picking face is always full of stock.

Goods stored first are taken out first – thereby allowing easy control of goods by manufacturing dates and production batches. Storage and retrieval are also quick due to separate loading and picking aisles.

The Carton Live Storage Racking operates in much the same way as the pallet system except that the goods are hand-loaded and stored in boxes or small containers. The system is particularly suitable fgor order-picking. (Pick to Light, Pick to Voice) applications for the assembly, distribution or shipping in the car manufacturing, pharmaceutical, cigarette and food industries.

Push Back Racking System

The Push Back Racking System provides the density of the Drive In System without having to drive the forklift truck into the racks. It offers high- density storage on a First In Last Out (FILO) basis.

All goods (in pallets) enter this racking system via pushback lanes at different levels of the structure. Each pushback lane consists of a pair of rails (equipped with either steel rollers or nested trolleys) which are installed at a slight gradient / slope (with the higher end towards the back and the lower end at the front of the racks). For storage, the first pallet is placed on the front of the racks by a lift truck, the operator then loads the second pallet by pushing back the first towards the inside of the racks. The subsequent pallets are loaded in a similar way. For retrieval, the lift truck takes out the pallet at the front (last one in), thereby allowing the pallets behind it to roll gently to the front.

Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS)

The AS/RS is a combination of High Bay Pallet Racking (designed for high stress tolerance and manufactured to a high degree of precision), stacker cranes and automation system software. It facilitates the rapid, accurate storage and retrieval of specific pallets. It is widely used in large warehouses, logistics and distribution centers.

Special Features of AS/RS:

  • Efficient operation : high speed and accuracy
  • Available operation of the manual, semi-automation and automation
  • Multi-product storage
  • Efficient usage of storage area
  • Accurate stock records maintained
Mini Load System

The Mini Load System gives a whole new meaning to the word ” efficiency ” in the handling and distributing of small goods in bins , trays and cartons.

In this AS/RS system for mini loads, the high speed performance of mini-loaded cranes in the system enhances product sorting and picking considerably.
